  1. Born in Lyon (France) in 1925. Caught in 
  2. a roundup there, jailed in Fort Montluc prison, then in Drancy, and sent to Auschwitz. He was one of the Jews selected in Auschwitz to clear the rubble from the ruins of the former Warsaw Ghetto.
